Thanksgiving 2006

Before I begin to rant, let me make sure it is understood. I love my family. I love my mom, my siblings, and my dad. I just can’t be around them for more than a few hours at a time, particularly my sister.
I spent many a thanksgiving with my ex-boyfriend Alexi and years ago, one thanksgiving we didn’t spend together, he asked me what I was going to do at my mom’s. My response was the same response that I give today “My plan is to eat lots of chocolate and start drinking alcohol.”
While making my shopping list this morning I wrote down “ALCOHOL!!!” to which my mother replied “But no one drinks in this house.” “I do. And I need it to make it through today. I can’t go today without drinking. I just can’t.” I bought some of the cheapest wine I could find, it was even more economical than the boxed wine. I bought some cheap cream liquor. I am rocking it. If anyone wants a funny conversation partner call me in about an hour. Have happy thanksgiving!

You are funny! I don’t drink at my parents, I try to keep myself busy. It’s 10pm, and we are still cooking. We ate our traditional Mexican dinner, and now we are cooking a turkey, which we don’t know what we’ll do with. My family is weird…

This is something many of us can relate to. I very thankful for good Margaritas (tequila, presidente brandy, cointreau, & real Lime juice) yum yum. Another great Thanksgiving drink is Austi-Spumante sparking wine. I like the expensive Baileys cream liquer, I need it on thanksgiving. These drinks help me enjoy thanksgiving with the familia.
